Ken Griffiths Runs the London Marathon to Raise Funds for the Haslewey
Huge congratulations and a massive thank you to Ken Griffiths. Ken made his Virtual London Marathon run on 4th October 2020 raising over £8,000 to support the Haslewey. Ken was training for several months and although in lockdown when he completed the marathon local people cheered the route some running alongside him to get him through the toughest times. He finished in just over 4.5 hours – what a fantastic achievement!
Ken’s Statement
I want to say a heartfelt thanks to all of you who supported me in my challenge of running the virtual London Marathon. Yes, I achieved my goal in completing the 26.2 miles, which was my personal Everest to climb, but I would not have done this without you. You all helped me in so many ways and in doing that, you also helped Haslewey, which is so much more than just a community building, it is the beating heart of the community of Haslemere. One can ask for no more than the community helping the community, because together we make things happen.
