Little Lumpy Sportive 2021
The following message is from our 2021 partner charity.

The Haslewey was very excited to be chosen as a beneficiary for monies raised by Little Lumpy, set to return for the annual event on Sunday 1st August 2021.

We were due to supply lots of baked goodies for the event cancelled last year, and rest assured we will be on hand to deliver the famous Little Lumpy Brownies, Flapjacks and other goodies this time around!

What the funds will help with
Monies raised by Little Lumpy, are set to be used to install power assisted doors to the toilet areas and activity rooms. The present door systems are too heavy for anyone with mobility problems and something we have been looking to address for some time. We are very grateful that this was recognised as something worth supporting by Little Lumpy, it will make a huge difference to many people using our facilities going forward.

What we have done during lockdown
During Lockdown and these difficult times, although closed as a Community Centre, The Haslewey has continued to deliver around 60 freshly cooked meals daily to our local, vulnerable residents (see attached photo). The Community Meals Service (CMS) has run out of Haslewey for the last 4 years, however numbers doubled during the first lockdown and have stayed at that level over the last 11 months.

It has meant so much to relatives unable to visit loved ones and been a real lifeline for many in the local community.
